Burna Boy, Wizkid win Grammys for Afrobeats' most important endorsement Beyoncé is now the most-winning female singer in Grammys history
It was a night to remember at the Grammys, especially for Beyonce, Burna Boy and Nas. Beyonce was breaking the record as the most awarded female artist in the history of the Grammys after making it 4 tonight, reaching the tally of a whooping 28 wins, of which she shares with Alisson Krauss while still active. Burna Boy and Wizkid were adding their names to the list of other Africans to ever win a Grammy and finally, Nas, born Nasir Jones got to win his first ever grammy in his 27 years lasting career.

Beyonce took home 4 awards from 9 nominations, including the best R&B performance for Black Parade, the best rap song for the remix of Savage featuring Meghan Thee Stallion which also won the best rap performance, as well as the best music video for Brown Skinned girl featuring Wizkid and Blue Ivy Carter
Burna Boy went home with the award for the best Global Music Album for Twice as Tall, while Wizkid won the best music video for featuring Beyonce on Brown Skinned girl with Blue Ivy Carter. Burna Boy and Wizkid added their names to the list of other African artists to ever win a Grammy like Angelique Kidjo, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Babatunde Olatunji, the Soweto Gospel Choir, and Sikiru Adepoju
The biggest winner tonight was Nas, Born Nasir Jones, who was winning his first Grammy in a career Spawning over 27 years. Nas released his first album, Illmatic in 1994 to critical acclaim and this album is considered among the greatest rap albums ever, arguably the best. He also found success with other albums like Stillmatic, Nastradamus, It was writen, Nasir, I am, God son and so many more, but he still had to wait until Kings Disease to win his first ever Grammy. Released independently on the 21st of August 2020 through Mass Appeal records and solely produced by Hit-Boy, Kings Disease is Jone’s 13th studio album, succeeding his previous release “Nasir”, released 2 years before. Kings Disease debuted at number 5 on the billboard 200 with the first weekly sales of 47000 units
