DR Congo: Super musician General Defao has died, get more information about him
General Defao was a well known Congolese musician who started his musical career about 1970s. His plot of death started last week while he attended New year live concert in Cameroon. He died aged 62 years old.
Musical lovers faced bad moment on this 28 December 2021; sad news circulated all over the world that a well known artist who comes from DR Congo; Liriro Matumona popularly known as General Defao has died at the hospital of Lanquintine, Douala, Cameroon.
According to international newspaper; BBC reported that Defao’s plot of his death started last week amidst the international live concert he attended in Cameroon. That live concert was about to celebrate new year; New Year’s Eve rehearsal. It was in that moment he began to feel unwell.
Defao was speedily taken to Lanquintine hospital in Douala, Cameroon. Doctors at Lanquintine hospital did a lot in order to rescue his life but DR Congo’s super star died, aged 62 years old.
Defao was born in 1958, in his lifetime, tried to create beautiful songs that made young people to admire music.
All over the world artists their hearts were broken by this sad news. Some super stars offered condolences to his friends, musical lovers and family. There are artists who overwhelmed by grief like Fally Ipupa and Ferre Gola, they said the death was a major blow to Africa.
According to BBC, General Defao was born in Kinshasa on December 31, 1958. He began to sing about 1978 in Suka Movuma Group.
Defao was active in childhood. He began his career in different groups like Fogo stars, Somo West, Grand Zaiko Wawa and later joined Choc Stars. It(Choc stars) was started in 1983 by diverse singers; Ben Nyamabo and Bozi Boziana. This group gave him strong foundation of his career.
