Liberation 28: Music changes from volunteerism to trade but the government should intervene
During the 20th century, in Rwanda artists were volunteer activities but nowadays it has become a trade because of the absence of government intervention. In 1994 while the RPF army was liberating Rwanda, history shows that strengthening the country started in mindset because there was no capital. If you remember a teacher used to teach and rewarded maize flour as praise. Soldiers and security in charge worked as volunteers.
Artistes have been not providing trust in the whole world
During the 20th century, research shows that many people wished to work within the industrial sector and services. There were no artists that could survive the owner. At the beginning of the 21st century, all people wanted to work in the technology sector. Nowadays people discovered that artists can survive as the ones who work in strong weapon industries survive.
This journey is about changing the welfare of human beings
British institution NESTA shows that in America about 10.3 million survive from artists. I ever conversed with Mr. Muyoboke Alex who was included in those who initiated acts of looking after profits of artists and told me that in 2008 they published Tom close’s Album at Huye where was a previous National University of Rwanda and with his all artists to help him. No financial profits were given to them because of just contribution.
Some of these artists include King James who has the maize flour industry. Doubted to be included in Rwandans who are keeping milliards (news from his colleagues). This artist is one of the most expensive artists to invite to the ceremony and slowly by slowly he is shifting from artistes to trade as others do. Another artist who sang as a volunteer is The Ben who has the record to be sung in the naming new baby born Gollira ceremony in 2017, entering was 99.600frw (100$)
At that time.
There were visited and 60million frw to expand places where Gollira lives. The Ben made history at Kampala whereby entering was one million Ugsh. There’s no other artist who ever achieved this in Rwanda, this made him qualify for leading East African Party 2017. From the beginning, this party was led by foreign artists because Rwandan artists could not do t like foreigners.
Remember from 2009 to 2014 it was 1000frw to watch live artists singing in East Africa Party in normal position while advance positions were 5000frw. These prices have now increased whereby much money is required to watch an artist singing, this shows how artists have become a trade. For instance, watching The Ben was 100$. It required seven years The Ben sang as a volunteer to make his career trade, and now he keeps surrounding the whole world in different events.
