Rwanda’s lesson to the world on a woman consideration.

In ancient Rwanda, women did not have equal rights to men because they were considered as unable people rather, more domestic that couldn’t perform any other activity apart from cooking, looking after children and caring their husbands.

They were denied their rights until they were ordered not eat meat as men, it was really awkward.
Basing on this, men often sexually abused women and they got uswed to it  because they didn’t know their rights, rather considered it as a strategy of strengthening their own homes (families) as known as in Kinyarwanda “Niko Zubakwa” that shows it as a must to the woman to be raped.
In 2011,research from Rwanda men’s Resource Centre, showed that 32% of women were raped and the crime was admitted by only 4% of men that time. It obvious that Rwandan women have dark history about getting equal rights as men did.

Despite the fact that women got no equal rights as men’s ones, in 1975, Rwanda started celebrating their annual day of their rights that taken place every 8th March. This played a big role because the wrong understanding about women slowly changed until Rwandan parliament got 64% of women.
Rwanda was the first country to have such percentage of women in parliament world-wide. Not only that, but also women played a big role in liberating Rwanda in 1994, Rt Capt. Daphrose INTARAMIRWA was one of the women that gave hand in liberating Rwanda.

his is a fact that underrating women have to be entirely uprooted, by implementing this, Rwandan government established laws that allow them to inherit land like their brothers, getting formal education and performing works that were considered for only men.
From Rwandan ancient history of women where being raped was considered a responsibility to the current situation, some women daily face the same challenges as those of past centuries which is very contrary to the truth as long women have shown how far they can reach whenever get the opportunity.
By fighting this, Rwandan government  carefully investigates those who still abuse women’s rights to get them highly punished. Men and women have to get equal rights as long as they are all able to perform any possible work. Women have to strive for their rights as long as rape is involved in their life.
