Some Rwandan artists were Broke and depressed after fame
It is hard for some people to believe how once a superstar and a big company brand ambassador can be broke while they once worked for millions in a blink of an eye.
Normal things become abnormal when it comes to the superstars. Nobody could question why someone is broke after better days of jewelry around their necks.
With or without management, this case rises among superstars around the world.
The charity begins at home, some Rwandan artists claim to be broke after millions and millions earning through different famous shows and some big contracts with big companies.
Few of them do have management teams that could at least prevent their economic collapse at the level of going viral begging for a living.
Recently, Fireman who once participated in one of the biggest contests that ever existed in Rwanda, Primus Guma Guma Super Star (PGGSS) that used to pay the participant artists about 1million Rwandan Francs, had had an interview with the fact show asking for the financial help due to the impoverished life that he was living in.
This rapper who is now in his hardship days received some collected money from his fan base to the extent of paying house rent.
Not only God’s son also known as Fireman appears to be broke regardless of the millions he once earned as a superstar, but other once-lit-stars are in their dark times.
Eric Senderi, this name sounds louder like thunder in Rwandan music lovers ‘ears due to his fame and innovation that he used to perform in PGGSS shows and seems to be a funny artist through interviews which makes people mostly love him.
This Afrobeat singer once decided to perform in markets with the entrance fee of two hundred Rwandan Francs due to being broke and he was one of the superstars that earned a lot of money.
However, this artist seems to have disappeared in the competitive music era.
Faruku Dinho is one of the former group ‘ABAKIMAZE’ members who were once at their shining days back in the days around 2009.
He is now a mechanic of motorbikes and shows that he is broke and no longer able to afford studio price to make some new songs as they used to do it before. Faruku affirms that there is poverty in the Rwandan music industry.
Although every broke celebrity has some excuses after being broke, a lot of fans and other music related people, say that poor management of their fortune is the root cause of their poverty.
