Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has launched a new music foundation in partnership with Berklee College of Music, aiming to train and empower the next generation of African music creatives through world‑class education and mentorship.
The Tiwa Savage Music Foundation was unveiled this week with the backing of Berklee College of Music, one of the world’s leading music institutions. The initiative will bring Berklee faculty to Lagos, Nigeria, for a fully funded four‑day intensive programme designed to train 100 emerging African artists, producers, songwriters, and music‑business professionals.
Savage said the foundation addresses a critical gap in structured learning opportunities for African music creators, noting that while genres like Afrobeats have exploded globally, many talented artists lack access to advanced training and industry knowledge.
