Uncle Austin a pillar to Rwandan music, rewinds his dire career
Via the Choice Live show, Luwano Tosh who goes by the stage name of Uncle Austin talks about the musical journey that he started as an MC(Master of Ceremony) back in the days of his high school which he later finished as a Dj.

By 2005, the living legend used to mix music and sing in Sky hotel which led to his breakthrough in his music career.
As he says “I was MC in 2008 when Shaggy came in Rwanda”, Uncle Austin used to entertain the show attendants at the times of big-name musicians stages.
By mentioning the big stages on which he acted as MC, names like D’Banj, Brick&Lace come to his mind and reminds him of the nostalgic moments he had on these stages as he was their MC. And he doesn’t hesitate to say that taught one of the biggest MCs in Rwanda, MC Tino, the way of being master of the ceremony.
Not only did he want to be MC but also starting to make his own songs wasn’t far from his dreams, it wasn’t a bad idea anyway.
The former MC, due to the love he had for the music, decided to dive deep and starts making his own songs.
He wanted to make his first single song inAfrobeat genre with the producer BizyB though it was surprisingly released as a Hip Hop genre song.
A radio career
Uncle Austin started working on radio as a radio presenter at the age of 15 in Kampala, Uganda. He low-key did this because none of his parents knew about it.
Alex Muyoboke who was also hosted in The Choice Live show, commented on this, saying that he can never push his child to do something they are not happy with.

How did Uncle Austin meet with Alex Muyoboke?
They firstly met in 2007 when Muyoboke Alex was with Tom Close at the time, Uncle Austin was going to Flash Fm that had the headquarter at Centenary house…This is where Alex Muyoboke firstly announced his career as a manager of artists (Musicians) in Rwanda.
Life was that hard
Alex Muyoboke used to go miles and miles by foot many times and others by bus which rarely happened.
“Using a motorcycle is such a new means of transport, we used feet countless times”. Alex Muyoboke explaining his hustle when it came to the means of transport.
Turning the page, Uncle Austin who later became a media personality, once hosted Miss Jojo who was his fan on Flash radio and he was the one who played her song for the first time, which inspired the other radio stations to do so.

Listen, Uncle Austin used to lie about his age because people expected him to be older than he was, due to his deep and strong radiophonic voice. So, he had to lie about it so that they don’t consider him a young boy while they thought him to be older than he really was following his voice.
