Many people are hurry about Christmas but some of them, they do not know what Christmas is.
Christmas comes from two words: Christ and mass. It is a holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, son of Mary who was virgin. Christian religion proclaims that he is son of God.
This celebration is not started today. During the reign of Christian emperor,
Constantine in Rome about 4th century on 25 December.
Bishop of Rome, pope Julius I Is one who announced officially date on December 25. It was before 350 AD. Same scholars said that according calculations done depends on time promise given, from when angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, it can be correct.
Actually, no one who knows well exactly date Jesus was born. In addition, Bible does not show date Christ born. In 2021, Sextus Julius Africanus identified this date 25 as Christ Jesus’s birthday. It became universal and accepted.
There are many people who do not celebrate Christmas, among of them are Christians. Millions Christians who do not celebrate this holy day, among of them are Quakers, Jehovah’s Witnesses like who live in America are about 2 million and other Christians members of churches of Christ.
Many countries celebrate Christmas but some not. About 40 countries do not care Christmas, neither have this festival nor public holiday.
Same of countries its population do not celebrate Christmas are: Afghanistan, Algeria, Brunei, Bhutan, China, Libya, Mauritania, Mongolia, North Korea, Pakistan, Tunisia.
Although there are many dates appointed but what is valued is heart doing.
