2 Hospitals Closed by Rwandan Ministry of Health (MOH) in two weeks
Last two weeks saw the closure of Baho International Hospital due to sudden death of a patient who checked in for a minor surgery, Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) immediately arrested the two doctors from this hospital for further investigation on the death of this woman.
The incident plus public complaints who took it to social medias to protest against its hygiene ,  poor service delivery and lack of enough medical materials attracted Ministry of Health’s attention and initiated an ongoing Investigation throughout Kigali.
The Ministry Immediately appointed a committee to conduct a probe in five working days which concluded the temporary closure of the hospital, adding that due to results from the conducted probe , they decided not to stop the probe but rather continue throughout all private hospitals in Kigali.
The continued Probe today led to closure of another private Hospital in Kigali with MBC hospital as a name, this hospital was also closed due to lack of medical materials , Lack of enough hygiene and poor service delivery.
Can these  closures affect the local & foreign investment ?
Poor service delivery is a rising virus among the businesses which likely affect their income and sales level and this is a multi-billion question of who is to blame for this problem , should  public blame leaders, investors  or employees.
Everyday different businesses are closing doors  due to poor service delivery which results to loss of clients and over the time businesses find themselves on the edge with no other option but closing, this not only affect the standard of living of the employees but also the economy.
In countries like Rwanda which puts First their citizens preventing anything which can be harmful to them , becomes the last option to investors instead of being the first choice. Rwandan Government recently swore to close down any business that operates unlawfully and without regulations.
Small and large business should adopt the habit of quality services, and should remember that they are working for the public. If not Rwanda is not your haven.
Foreign investment can not be discouraged due to the fact that there are so many examples of businesses which are thriving and enjoying the secure environment in Rwanda , these closures can only discourage businesses which operates contrary to the country’s laws but also those who enjoys rooting the public.
