RIB to carry a significant probe over corruption in Primus National League
The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has recently announced a serious investigation into Primus National League teams following an arrest of AS Muhanga’s shot-stopper who solicited a bribe in lately concluded Primus National League, season 2020-2021.
The Organ will introduce investigation in teams due to a went viral story of Emile Mbarushimana, who confessed soliciting a bribe alone in the last four matches of the tournament and that the same case applies everywhere in the teams of Rwanda.
Mbarushimana confessed to having received a bribe from the four opponent teams that they had to lock horns with and unfolded more match-fixing cases that happened in some topflight fixtures. He pleads guilty. He admitted to having done it solely and adds that the case is anywhere. Says the Spokesperson of RIB, Dr. Thierry B. Murangira on Sunday, July 4.
Receiving bribes, offering them, match-fixing, illegal betting and misdemeanors that had Rwandan Sport down on its knees are the spots to be mended in this wave.
Starting with AS Muhanga’s case, RIB promised a wide probe into all teams irrespectively of their statuses or one’s post.
The Spokesperson reminded people that such crimes are punishable by the Rwandan laws, so the related people have to behave.
