Will Rwanda Achieve it’s goal of vaccinating at least 30% by The end of this year ?
The ministry of Health recently announced that their plan is to vaccinate up to 60% of the total population by the end of next year 60% of the 13 Million People equally 7 Million People , and in their recent report ministry of health says they has now vaccinated over 21% of the 7 Million People, adding that at least 1.6 Million has received both doses
Building on the success of Rwanda’s routine immunization system, COVID-19 vaccination has been rolled out smoothly with minimal hesitancy. The country is committed to reach as many people as possible in each targeted group and to make this happen, vaccine distribution has been facilitated by air, road and water, allowing a simultaneous vaccination roll-out country wide.
To address the shortage in vaccine supply which slowed down the vaccination pace from April to June, the Government of Rwanda engaged with vaccine manufacturers to access more vaccine doses through bilateral agreements while continuing its engagement with COVAX Facility. The strong leadership and good governance observed in Rwanda has been the foundation and driving force behind innovations and successes.
Rwandans immediately adopted the vaccination policies and are on the lead when it comes to acquiring vaccines.
How is the rate of vaccination procedure ?
Rwanda reports one of the highest vaccination rate in Africa where between 30-70 Thousand People are vaccinated daily. From this rate,no doubt 60% of the total population will by 2022 be vaccinated.
Who are partnering with Rwandan Government to achieve this Goal ?
Rwanda is collaborating with different partners to achieve this milestone of vaccinating 60% of the population by the year 2022.
In a recent interview President Paul Kagame cleared the air on how Rwandans who needs Vaccines are much greater than the number of Vaccines available at the moment , this proves how people of Rwanda are very committed.
Prior to Rwandans , there are wide range of partners including World Health Organisation (WHO), Africa (CDC), COVAX Facility and World Bank.
Definitely Rwanda will achieve the goal of vaccinating 60% of the total population by the end of the year 2022.
