'MOPAS Film Academy' is a multimedia school located in Kigali in Gikondo Merez I in the Bank of Kigali building (Bank of Kigali), teaching photography, videography, graphic design, and job creation. Now 20 students have been trained for six (6) months.

Usually, it is a multimedia school that teaches students for four (4) months. It is also in partnership with the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) and those not supported by RTB pay 300,000 RWF per four (4) months. The graduates had been trained for 6 months for the special program of the RTB project.

During the graduation ceremony for 20 graduating students (supported by the TVET Board through the NEET project; Youth Not in Employment or Education Training), the School Manager of MOPAS Film Academy, Laurent Niyonzima said that this school makes a great contribution to self-employment because they teach students to put into practice what they study.

He said: "We take university graduates, high school graduates (...), who are unemployed, and teach them about photography, graphic design, graphic design. Not only that, but we teach live streaming for four months. Graduates immediately go to the labor market, work, and start their businesses.

The special guest at this ceremony was the Director General of Good Governance of Kigali City, MUNYANDAMUTSA Jean Paul. He asked these young people who had this opportunity to be trained to apply what they have learned, without looking at the government as the one that would give them a job.

He informed them that the knowledge they received was an investment and they should value that knowledge and not waste it. He assured them that the country loves them and will continue to be close to them for further development.

Mr. Niyonzima revealed that there are people who graduated from this school who work for various media companies with television, photography, and graphic design, and others who are creative. As a result, graduates have fought unemployment, become self-sufficient, and provide for their families.

This school 'MOPAS Film Academy' was established by the company 'MOPAS Ltd' which specializes in planning and organizing meetings and events (Event Management) and has been working for more than ten (10) years but started working with WDA (replaced by RTB) in 2016, which already has 1500 graduates.
